Coordination meeting on the project “Network of Competence Centres for the Development of Cruise Tourism in the Black Sea region (Georgia and Ukraine) 543681-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-DE-TEMPUS-JPHES – CruiseT”
The working group of Odessa National Maritime Academy, which is the national coordinator of the project TEMPUS CruiseT, participated in the coordination meeting held in Chernorizets Hrabar Free University of Varna (Bulgaria) from 18 to 25 April 2015. The working group included the following participants: S.I. Zaichko, the Deputy Rector on Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Activity, I.A. Golubkova, Professor, T.I. Levinskaya, Professor, senior lecturer of Department of Economics Theory and Business Undertaking (or Entrepreneurship) on Maritime Transport, N.A. Peresypkina, assistant of Department of Economics Theory and Business Undertaking on Maritime Transport, postgraduate of ONMA, M.V. Babachenko, assistant of Department of Economics Theory and Business Undertaking on Maritime Transport, postgraduate of ONMA.
ONMA delegation participated in the following activities under the coordination meeting: familiarization with Chernorizets Hrabar Free University of Varna, presentation of the Association "Network of Competence Centres for the Development of Cruise Tourism in the Black Sea region", whose founders are ONMA and Kherson State University; report on the implementation of activities on themes and structure development of the refresher courses in the field of the cruise business, in cooperation with the administration of Odessa Sea Port SE "Odessa Commercial Sea Port" and BASPA; ONMA as the National Coordinator reported on the website creation www.blacksea-cruises.com, the completion of preparatory work of the working documents for the project registration in the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine as well.
Moreover, ONMA took part in the workshop. The leading professors from Germany, Italy, Slovakia held the workshop on the following topics: the development of directions, management and positioning for the sustainable economic development of tourism; specific characteristics of event-management; the quality of services in the sector of hospitality; social media technologies in the field of tourism and hospitality. According to the workshop results, the presentations of each working group were presented, topic issues were identified to hold «Summer school», the task from European coaches was received as well as the plans for possible future cooperation programs with partner universities of the project were defined. The preparation of a draft agreement was held, the organization of the project «Summer school» and the participation of ONMA cadets in this project (during their practice in accordance with the curriculum) was discussed. Questioning techniques of cruise ships passengers calling to the administration of Odessa Sea Port SE "Odessa Commercial Sea Port" and processing of the received results were agreed. Besides that, the workshop participants examined the administrative issues in connection with the release of the Crimean project partners.
