3rd INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON SEAFARERS EDUCATION, TRAINING AND CREWING -2015

The 3rd International Forum on Seafarers Education, Training and Crewing was held in the central exhibition hall of the passenger terminal of Odessa Sea Commercial Port on 22 - 23 April, 2015. The Forum was organized by Odessa National Maritime Academy and the exhibition centre Odessa House.

More than 60 organizations and companies, including maritime educational institutions and training centers, shipping and crewing companies, training simulators and software designers, other representatives of the maritime industry will participate in the conference and exhibition ETC-2015. The Forum was supported by International Maritime Organization (IMO), International Transport Federation (ITF), International Maritime Employers Council (IMEC), International Association of shipowners BIMCO, International Association InterManager, International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU), The Nautical Institute, the Institute of Maritime Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), as well as the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.

More than 60 organizations and companies, including maritime educational institutions and training centers, shipping and crewing companies, training simulators and software designers, other representatives of the maritime industry participated in the conference and exhibition ETC-2015.

The questions of human factors in shipping, cooperation of employers and seafarers, personnel management, maritime education and practical training, simulation training and the seafarers knowledge assessment were discussed during the conference.

Mr. Yurii Vaskov, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the representatives of the Inspectorate for Training and Certification of Seafarers and the State Inspectorate of Ukraine for Safety of Maritime and Inland Water Transport, other organizational structures of the maritime industry participated in the work of the conference.

The key reports was delivered by Capt. Alfred von der Hoeh, Vice-Chairman of the IME and Capt. Robert Mc Cabe, the President of the Nautical Institute. More than 150 delegates from Bulgaria, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Cyprus, China, Norway, Singapore and Ukraine participated in the conference.

A brief discussion took place between the Academy's cadets and employed graduates concerning the graduates' working perspectives of Maritime Law and Management Faculty of ONMA.
